UK Global Talent Visa & Australian National Innovation Visa

I recently co-hosted a webinar with Michelle Lingham, Founder and Principal Migration Agent from Australia, where we each broke down our respective visa pathways — Michelle covering the Australian National Innovation Visa and I walking through the UK Global Talent Visa Stage 1 endorsement process. The comparison made for a fascinating discussion.

The biggest takeaway? Both the UK and Australian Governments share a clear belief: exceptionally talented individuals drive real economic value, and these visa pathways reflect a deliberate effort to attract and support their next career move

It was also clear that both pathways requires applicants to:

  • Show that they are exceptionally talented by highlighting their thought leadership skills and activities outside of their day to day job such as speaking engagements, media publications and winning awards.
  • Have support from their networks in their sector – Your network is your net worth; and
  • Show how they plan to significantly contribute to the UK or Australian tech sector.
